 I always seem to find more things to make my life more complicated. I just recently decided that before my old computers go completely and I can not access things like my spreadsheets, I should really find another way to manage them. I had been listing my craft items by individual numbers with descriptions. That has lead to having over 5500 different entries, and a lot to keep track of.

New idea, no more individual numbers, now I am going to do things by categories. So all like things will have the same number. That should drop things down to a bit over 200 different categories. 

BUT, that also means that I have to reticket all those 5500 items. That is now adding a lot to my work load. In the long run it will be better as I will be able to keep the list in an actual book and not have to worry if I can get on line when I need the information.

Now there are times, for various reasons that I can not get on line. Plus with a book, I can take it with me and not have to rely on a device that has to be plugged in. Some may say that is going back in time, and abandoning the electronics, and it probably is. But it is also always ready. I do not have to charge something, or hope it decided to co-operate with the way I want to do stuff.

I can go for weeks at a time without even looking at my laptop, and then find before I can use it anywhere I want, I have to charge it. A book I can grab and go.

When I have the time I will find a program on the new laptop to enter the categories into, but for now I just do not have that amount of time. I still have to get all that sewing done so I have something to sell when the markets start in spring.
