Almost the end of February

Now that we are getting towards spring, it is  finally deciding to act more like winter. It has been snowing for 24 hours now. I think we have caught up with them amount we had last year. This is that nice heavy wet snow, the kind that make nice snowmen.
I was actually giving some thought to going out and building one. But it was kind of windy out there and I have so much to finish and the time to finish it all is getting short. So I skipped it.
Tomorrow I will probably have to go out in it whether I want to or not. We are out of a few necessary things like food for one thing.
Always around this time of the year, I get my snowmen decorations put away, and the last of the Christmas ones that somehow escaped my notice when I was putting the bulk of them away.
This year I did congratulate myself though for getting the Christmas lights taken down in the enclosed porch before the trees start to leaf out.
One year I just left them up, one less thing to do at Christmas. I did happen to notice that I have forgotten to take the mini wreaths off the windows so still have that to do...
It seems like it is always something.

Mindless repetition or focused thought?

Ever stop to think of all the things we learned as children that we can now
recite with out any thought to their content, or what they really mean, and how they
can enhance our lives. One of those things in my opinion is the Lord's Prayer. Oh, we can say it without any hesitation, but do we ever really stop to consider what it means?
I was part of a discussion this past week, on what it really means. And how it is an excellent
prayer to say upon arising every morning, and really focusing on it's message.

                           The Lord's Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the the kingdom ,and the glory, for ever. Amen
