hello again, it has been a long time...

So much time has passed since I signed in here, Spring finally did come, actually I think it is summer that we are missing now. Spring seems to want to hang around longer than it should, we do have the occasional warm day, but mostly it is chilly and just rain, rain, rain.....
As for getting a whole lot done, well that is not happening either, well not work and productive things that is...I have done a lot of reading, caught up on a few magazines that have piled up. Cut all my subscriptions down to 2. Used to have more, but when they are still in the plastic sleeve after a year it is clear that I did not have time to read them, and now the news is so old, that there is no real reason to even take off the plastic.
When I started this blog, my ambition was to just have a place to journal most days...and now I see that months have passed and I have not revisited... I did have a time when I could not get on line, and then another time when circumstances made it impossible to be on a computer, and I sort of fell out of love with the computer. I found other fun things to replace it and just never seemed to find the time to return.
If you let it the internet can take over your life, and for a time it had...but now it is not that much of a draw anymore...I have other here and now things to do, and even though I have made lots of friends on the internet, I can also talk to those friends through other forms of communication. With the internet, I have to have both hands on a keyboard, with other forms, I can do other things while I chat.
Not saying that I will be abandoning my blogs, no that will not happen, just saying that more of my day will be devoted to other things and not fanatically attached to the internet....

The Pie Wins

As I have mentioned on  my other blog...I have spent a ton of time trying to get back into my blogs. I had the right email and password...well sort of the right password... I just did not write it down correctly..I must have had it in my head that I needed the shift key for a few of the keys I was using, BUT when I wrote it down I did not write it that way.
You know how you think you did something one way, and then find out you didn't? That sort of thing.
So now that I have solved this hurdle, the only thing I have left to do is get all my stuff done before my internet get shut off while they re-do the wires. They said it should be done in a couple hours. Then I need to get it set up... I could let the techs do it and pay big bucks, or I could get my son to do it and bake him a pie...I think the pie wins!
Even though it is past Thanksgiving, I will be making a pumpkin pie, his favorite...

December Aready?

Well this year, I think I am ahead...or at least I am not behind. Don't know how it happened that I actually caught up...maybe it happened because a just burned my to do list and started over with just the important things.
My old list was getting so long, and some of the things had been on there so long, that I was not even interested in doing them anymore.
Now I only have 3 things on the list, cookies, clean and decorate, and cards....then I have nothing to do that I really do not want to do....
Feels GREAT!

Almost the end of November already

Here it is almost the end of November already.
In some ways I am so far behind I will probably not even halfway catch up to where I would like to be, and in other ways I am really ahead. I have a project done that did not have to be done till May of 2014. But I haven't finished the list of things that I wanted to get done today.
Funny how things work out that way sometimes. I could have left the project till April, but it was all just sitting here begging to be done, so I thought, just do it now and then you will have it done.
  I need to go back to the old way of doing things, when I was actually getting a lot more done...then I had lists everywhere reminding me of things that had to be done, and by when they had to be done...That system has always worked for me in the past...

Time slips away

It has been so long since I have been here...life just seems to get hectic sometimes and the time just seems to slip away...Just today I thought, WOW, summer is almost over, there are so many things I wanted to do this summer. It seems like just yesterday I was making those plans for the things I wanted to do when summer finally got here. And now it is almost over and I have not done even one of the things I wanted to.
  So before any more time slips away, I will take one day a week and do those things that I want to do...I will enjoy the remainder of summer and then the fall.
Through the unexpected cancellation of a weekly activity, I find myself with a free afternoon...Now before it gets taken up with the mundane "to do" stuff that I find piling up, I will reserve it for a fun afternoon just for me, and whomever I choose to spend it with....
  Delightful time just for ME! Such a wonderful thought.............................

Such Fun to Make

I saw these cute little microwave bowls an could not resist making them...They are so useful, and so addictive to make. The first one took me longer than it should have, as is with most everything  when doing the first one, but after that, they just almost made themselves. Of course I had to alter the pattern instructions to suit me... I never can just do it the way the instructions say...I have to add my extras to things. The most time consuming part of making these is all the marking of the batting....

April Showers

There was good news and bad news for today. The good news is it was not raining when I got up, the bad news is everything had a coating on white on it. I know this is spring, and spring can be unpredictable, but this is getting a bit tiring. I would love to see a day or two of sunshine.
  Of course it would also be nice if it were to stop raining, just for a couple days would be nice. If it can't stop raining, then maybe of the temperature would rise a bit, like into the 60's or so that would also be nice...

Spring?????

What happened to Spring, that time when the weather is supposed to be getting warmer and the grass is getting green, the leaves are starting to bud out......Got up this morning to a white lawn...did not stay all that long till it melted, but it was still there. Plus it never got above 40 degrees all day. Has been raining since Sunday...There is no where for the water to go anymore...the river is rising.
